An Introduction To FIA

Forensic Imaging & Archiving, Inc (FIA) was formed in 2008 to administer the multiple applications of a new quality assurance, quality control, and risk management software created through our original venture, Construction Imaging & Archiving. Over time, as we continued to develop this software for the Construction Industry, we found that its properties could extend well beyond the confines of Construction, and into other professional industries that could benefit from the documented liability protection our software provides.

First, we identified QA, QC and risk management applications for the building surveys that are conducted daily throughout the country on high-rise and mid-rise buildings. The adaptation of our software for these inspections has shortened the inspection, coalition, and thebid process for repairs and maintenance by as much as 30 to 45 days on every job. This discovery lead to the formation of our first division, Building Envelope Archiving.

We then discovered ways to assist cities across America in streamlining their permit inspection divisions with the addition of the GPS capabilities in our cameras. We can locate, track and identify the projects that each building inspector is working on, and see when an inspector arrives, how long they spend on a project, what they are inspecting, the moment they archive the last photograph, and when they arrive at the next project. We allow the administrators within their division to see the work being performed by each inspector in “real time”, which provides proof certain that the inspectors have performed their jobs correctly. When inspections do not pass, the issue is identified, photographed and archived. This process helps determine issues for overtime billing by inspectors, or provides documentation when an additional inspection may be needed due to either an improper inspection or because the contractor was not ready at the time of the inspection. For this reason we have formed the Building Inspection Archiving division.

During our many meetings with the Insurance industry and with Lending Institutions, we have discovered applications where inspections are required for QA, QC and insurance risk avoidance. This is how we came to form the Aeronautical Forensic Archiving, Marine Forensic Archiving and Federal Forensic Archiving divisions of FIA. We found that by assisting in archiving some of the mandatory inspections on airplanes and ships, either when they’re for sale or just being built, our photographic inspection process has proven to be an invaluable tool to all parties involved. These inspections are shared via the web with buyers, sellers, lenders, escrow companies and insurance companies prior to transactions closing and dollars changing hands.

We at Forensic Imaging & Archiving believe that whenever there is the need to inspect an asset to protect the Buyer, the Seller, the Developer, the Contractor, the Bank, or the Insurance Company, we have the ability to bring everyone together on the same page and improve the outcome for the good of all involved. Our presence, along with a commitment to quality and integrity, enables us to help our clients protect their asset while significantly reducing exposure to defect litigation.
