Our Process

Industry Professional Specific to Each Project
F.I.A. contracts with industry professionals throughout the country to provide the utmost in expertise. For example, if you are building a high-rise, we get a high-rise veteran to document the project. We then certify that professional, to use our patented software, cameras, computer and peripherals through our Project Manager Certification Course. F.I.A. employs the latest technology in Cameras and computers to assist in documenting every aspect of the inspection process.

The Project Manager (PM) will learn how to take photographs that exceed all industry standards. Then every day the inspection takes place, photos will be taken, forensically tagged, annotated and uploaded to our website where our patented software will store them. The majority of the photos taken will merely document the work of each trade and then be stored for the ten years. However, when the PM notices something that needs attention, that photo is uploaded real time and then emailed to all designated parties for correction and accountability. The “Issue for Review” is then stored in a separate sort from the rest of the photos until the issue is rectified. This is catching the defects as they occur and not when they call attention to themselves.

Prior to storage, each photo is reviewed by an in-house professional for quality and accuracy. Once stored, the photo can be retrieved from our website by entering your user ID and password and engaging in any number of customizable sort and search options. This is essential if you want to review the work of a particular trade, particular date or just check status for fund control purposes.

Upon completion of a project, each client receives a binder containing a CD with every photo taken on the project, as well as instructions on how to use the CD and software for their personal archiving purposes.

FIA Reports
By generating reports that show what the issues were, who was responsible, how long it took the parties to resolve, and the quality of the remedial work, FIA’s system will be used in a way to make people more accountable for their work and for the work of their employees. FIA reports clearly identify chronic problems as well as problematic contractors who can be watched carefully and replaced if necessary.

FIA progress reports can be printed and handed out in meetings at any point of the project to highlight a specific concern. Since the reports will be cumulative, they will show trends and highlight repetitious issues or mistakes by location, time period, by trade, or subcontractor.

In the case of inspections done over time on our Marine or Aeronautical products, trends will identify at an early stage problematic systems or components that may prevent catastrophic events.

FIA reports protect and mitigate the owner, developer, insurance carrier, general contractor, consultants, engineers and architects from construction defect litigation and will help to identify responsible parties.

FIA Corporate Tracking Procedure
Not only will the owner, buyer, developer, escrow agent, construction lender, fund control agent, construction management firm, and others be watching the website for pictures to see that the photographs match the schedule, or the appropriate inspection being done, so will the FIA corporate office. Our technicians log in on a daily basis to monitor every project under contract. The Corporate FIA office has technicians tracking every project across the United States on each individual projects website. FIA technicians will be looking at current and verified schedules to confirm pictures are matching the project schedule. FIA Headquarters will also be looking for signs of schedules slipping, constantly being adjusted and or schedules that are just unrealistic. FIA will be making every attempt to hold the general contractor, each subcontractor, Seller or party to a contract, accountable to the projects schedule and contract conditions. If the schedule is not being maintained, FIA will notify the owner or developer if required. All contractors and sub-contractors will have a clear understanding of FIA protocols prior to the start of the project.
